I recently aquired my Ph.d in Geography (since June 2022) in the field of environment, agriculture and risks, my thesis work focused on “climate change and rice growing: knowledge and strategies of farmers in Lower Casamance (Senegal) for an agroecological transition”. This work was carried out under the international co-supervision of the Muséum National d’Histoire Naturelle in Paris (France) at the UMR 208 PALOC (IRD/MNHN), where I was attached to the Globalized Societies and Environment research team, and the Assane Seck University of Ziguinchor (Senegal) at the Geomatics and Environment Laboratory (LGE). I am pursuing my research on the analysis of the impacts of climate change on socio-ecosystems, on farmers’ strategies and on agro-ecological transition policies in West Africa, particularly in Senegal. I am currently working at the Instituto Superior de Agronomia, University of Lisbon (Portugal), as a post-doctoral researcher in the framework of the Malmon project ‘‘Mangroves, mangrove rice and mangrove people : sustainably improving rice production, ecosystems and livelihoods’’, developed in Guinea-Bissau.
